Eighth Amendment

Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.

The Eighth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution state that, excessive bail nor excessive fine should not be required in setting bail for the release of someone accused of a criminal activity, and the government may not impose a large amount of fine on a person for a particular crime, the harshness of cruel and unusual punishments shall not be impose upon individuals who have been convicted of a unlawful offense.
