Third Amendment

No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law.

  1. This act simply says that in time of peace no soldier can stay in a citizen house without the permission of the owner, and in time of war, but manner to be prescribed by law. The inspiration of this amendment comes from the Quartering since many colonist were enraged giving British soldiers the liberty to take over someones home.
